Enjoy the sea view on Jiangmeng-Zhanjiang railway

China Railway Guangzhou Group Co. Ltd indicated that the Jiangmen-Zhangjiang railway starts trail run from May 28th. No tickets are put on sell during the period of trial run.

According to the timetable, the railway will officially operate at the end of June. However, Jiangmen Station will still be under construction, passengers need to get on the train at Xinhui Station.

Once the line has opened passengers will be able to reach Guangzhou South Railway Station direct from Zhanjiang, Maoming and Yangjiang in 3 hours, with trains reaching speeds of 200 km/h.

The Jiangmen-Zhanjiang section, stretches 355 kilometers through Jiangmen, Yangjiang, Maoming and Zhanjiang, linking 13 other stations, Jiangmen, Shuangshui Town, Taishan, Kaiping South, Enping, Yangdong, Yangjiang, Yangxi, Mata, Dianbai, Maoming, Wuchuan, Zhanjiang.

The world's first fully-enclosed sound barrier

The nationally renowned ‘Birds’ Paradise’ is located in Jiangmen. It is a wonder of nature where hundreds of thousands of birds flock throughout the year.

Due to the limitation of line selection conditions, the closest distance between “The Birds’ Paradise” to the Jiangmen--Zhanjiang Railway is only 800 meters.

In order to protect the natural ecological environment, and to mitigate the impact of noise, vibration and light generated by trains, the railway construction department has put forward 180 million yuan to build the world's first fully enclosed high-speed railway.

The sound barrier is around two kilometers long and it is the longest sound barrier in the country. The sound barrier minimizes the acoustic and optic interference caused by the running train and ensures that birds' habitat is not affected.

When the 200-km high-speed train passed through the barriered section, the background noise of core area in the eco park increased by only 0.2 dB. Noise and light pollution from the railway have as such been minimized, maintaining the delicate balance of the region’s ecology.
