Six traditional crafts from Guangzhou and a total of 18 from Guangdong province made the first batch of national revitalization list jointly released by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on May 24 .
The six selected Guangzhou crafts are Canton embroidery, Guangzhou jade carving, Guangzhou olive-stone carving, plaster sculpture, Cantonese hardwood furniture production techniques and Guangcai porcelain firing techniques.
A total of 383 traditional crafts in 14 categories were selected across the nation this time, including textile dyeing and embroidery, dressmaking, weaving and plaiting, engraving and sculpting, furniture and architecture, and so on.
The establishment of the national revitalization list for traditional crafts is to select and support a group of traditional crafts that are historic, have a manageable production scale and development prospects, and are conducive to employment promotion.
