A center to "incubate" Zhuhai and Guangdong experts in IP design, application, protection, and management opened on March 28 in Hengqin New Area of Zhuhai.
The National (Guangdong) Intellectual Property Training Base is China's 26th. Part of the Hengqin International Intellectual Property Rights Exchange (HIPEX), it is sanctioned by the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) to facilitate IP development by providing quality talent training.
This HIPEX-innovated project relies upon a training system that has already held more than 20 sessions covering IP operations and management for 2,000 industry personnel.
HIPEX (Seven-Stringed Lute) National Platform Agency was chosen for the endeavor due to its integrated IP resources and proven proficiency.

Zhuhai's government has long placed emphasis on IP-related industries because they are conducive to innovative development. Subsequently, it has become both a National Pilot City of National Intellectual Property and Pilot City for IP pledge financing as defined by the SIPO.
Riding on these achievements, the HIPEX National Platform was initiated in June 2017. It offered a specially designed app and website, www.7ipr.com, that combines social networking, IP e-commerce, IP finance, big data, and listed transactions.
It quickly became popular. Registered members have grown in number to 110,000 individuals, enterprises, learning institutes, industry associations, and service agencies across nine customers categories.
Thanks to HIPEX service, the city recorded 20,737 patent applications last year with the number granted surging 35.1 percent to 12,544.
Gan Shaoning, deputy director of the SIPO, and Xie Hong, deputy director of the Guangdong Intellectual Property Office, attended the opening ceremony. Also participating was Zhuhai Vice Mayor Lu Xiaofeng.
