Breaking | EHang reveals test video of AAV manned flight

EHang released a video of the latest test flights of their Autonomous Aerial Vehicle (AAV), the world first drone capable of carrying human passengers. 40 people have been invited to participate in the test, including Wang Dong, Vice Mayor of Guangzhou, and Hu Huazhi, founder and CEO of EHang.

Before the manned flight test, EHang has been tested thousands of times, for instance, Flight test in Typhoon (Force 7), load fight test (230 kg) climbing test (300m in altitude), long-range flight test (8.8km, 130km/h), night flight test, and more.

Hu Huazhi revealed that EHang has developed a drone capable of carrying 2 persons. Through actual tests, it is able to carry 2 persons at a time with a load of 280 kilograms. Moreover, in EHang 184 high-configuration hand-controlled drones, hand control devices were added in cabin.

When it comes to the practical application of drone capable of carrying human passengers that people are concerned about, Hu Huazhi said, “EHang has its own schedule to launch it on Market. For new innovative product, techology always comes first, and it helps to perfect related regulation and leads industry to move forward.”

According to EHang, they are cooperating with CAAC to formulate new regulations and safety standards for drone capable of carrying human passengers.
