Wrapping up the Fortune Global Forum, Guangzhou, the host and city, has showcased its outward looking mindset and international business environment on the global stage.
As an international hub city, Guangzhou has now established a sister relationship with 37 cities worldwide, in an endeavour to push forward international cooperation and people exchange across a wide rage of areas.
Most recently, Helena Balthammar, Mayor of Linkoping, visited Guangzhou with her delegation, celebrating the 20th anniversary of the sister relationship between two cities. Located in the south of Sweden, Linkoping is the fifth biggest city in its country; famous for technology industries and universities.
During her trip, Helena Balthammar signed an MoU with Guangzhou to further cooperation, and witnessed two MoUs signed between universities and libraries:
Helena Balthammar said the 20 year long relationship has laid a firm foundation for cooperation, and she saw the cooperation between two cities expanding into new areas. She took sustainable development as an example, saying that talented individuals from both cities have been working together conducted fruitful research.
“I hope the outcome of this l research could be the development into companies in the future, and further our cooperation at the business level,” she said.
