On September 29, Guangdong Government held a reception in Guangzhou to celebrate the 68th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
Yuan Baocheng, Vice Governor of Guangdong, delivered a toast and gave guests from home and abroad a warm welcome. He said China has been striving to realize the "Two Century Goals" and the Chinese Dream of realizing national rejuvenation, achieving remarkable accomplishment, especially in the past five years since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.
Attributed to the deepening reform and opening-up, Guangdong also achieves rapid social and economic development, and becomes the province with the largest economic aggregate and foreign trade as well as the most vibrant and open economies in China.
In future, Guangdong will uphold the "Four Insistence, Three Support, Two Pioneering" guidelines instructed by President Xi Jinping on Guangdong's work and step up the efforts in the supply-side reform, the innovation-driven development strategy, the opening-up, the establishment of a new open economy mechanism in the effort to brave a new scenario of reform, opening-up and modernization.
Jiang Ling, Member of the Standing Committee and Secretary General of CPC Guangdong Committee, Luo Juan, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of Guangdong Provincial People's Congress, Yuan Baocheng, Vice Governor of Guangdong Province, Lin Xiong, Vice Chairman of Guangdong Provincial Committee of the CPPCC and representatives of democratic parties and government units were present at the celebration.
The reception also invited guests including Christian Cardona, Deputy Leader of the Malta's Labour Party and Minister for Economy at Government of Malta, foreign consular officers in Guangzhou, representatives of foreign establishments, foreign experts, representatives of foreign corporations, financial institutions, media, compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan in Guangdong and representatives of overseas Chinese.
