On Aug. 17, a container truck taking Macao featured snacks entered the cross-border e-commerce park in Nansha from Hengqin Port. For the first time, Guangdong imports Macao food under the Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement (CEPA). That facilitates enterprises from Macao and Portuguese-speaking countries to explore Chinese mainland market.

"Those cross-border products are Macao featured snacks including almond cake, butter egg roll and peanut brittle in nearly 1,100 express packages. That will be sold to Guangdong, Chongqing and Zhejiang, etc," said Weng Xuechuan, general manager of Keypon International Logistics (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd.

Weng further said that, the cross-border e-commerce in Nansha is fully developed with lots of innovative measures and locates at a core area of logistics in south China.

For instance, Nansha has launched a global quality traceability networking system for imported products. In the system, the quality information provided by each segment in the consumption period will be recorded and managed through big data and cloud computing. In return, every segment can search for information with a unique traceability code for each goods.

Currently, the average time for inspecting a product in Nansha is shortened to 105 seconds, said a staff of Nansha Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau. What's more, it takes only 6 seconds for inspecting a piece of food product like cake or cookie.

After planting traceability code and inspection, these imported products will be delivered to consumers as soon as possible.

In future, the cross-border e-commerce trucks will run weekly to bring Macao featured snacks for residents in Guangzhou and other areas.
