2,000 people to swim across the Pearl River next week

An annual event in Guangzhou known as the Swim-Across-the-Pearl-River Event is scheduled to be held at the Guangzhou section of the Pearl River at 2: 30 pm next Tuesday (July 25), according to information released at a press conference held by the organizer yesterday (July 20).

It is estimated that 2,000 people will participate in the event including those from six other cities outside of Guangzhou. This year’s session will also strengthen safety and security controls. Those who are aged above 15 but below 55 are allowed to swim across the Pearl River if they have passed the test events.

The venue of the event will be along the section of the Pearl River between Zhongda Pier and Xinghai Concert Hall.
