【SZ】Woman detained for painting ofo bike

A woman was detained for allegedly painting a yellow app-based bike black for her own use instead of sharing the bike with others.

According to Baogang Police Station, an employee of the app-based bike operator ofo surnamed Liu reported that he found a bike that looked exactly the same as an ofo bike, except for the color, on his way home in Bantian, Longgang District, on April 18. He called police after he confirmed the steel logo on the bike.

The woman, surnamed Zou, 35, was arrested by police and admitted that she had found the unlocked bike in a bridge tunnel in Bantian on April 11. She rode it home, replaced the lock with her own and painted the bike black. She even added a back seat and a basket to the front and removed the QR code for fear of being spotted.

In another development regarding shared bikes, HKMTR Shenzhen Company set up preferred parking locations at four stations Wednesday, namely Lianhuabei, Shangmeilin, Baishilong and Longsheng, in cooperation with Mobike.
