Hengqin announced that the free WiFi platform, HengQin-Free, was completed and open to the public on April 18. HengQin-Free can provide a maximal link speed of 1GB/s. No limit on data flow or duration would be imposed on subscribers.
HengQin-Free was initiated by the government of Hengqin and was funded by Zhuhai Da Hengqin Technology Development Co., Ltd. When your smartphones and laptops detect the signal of HengQin-Free, you can have access to the Internet by entering verification codes that are sent to your phones. After login, your mobile terminals will automatically connect to the Internet without entering the codes. Currently, the signal covers populous sites including government office buildings, scenic spots, sporting venues and transportation junctions.
According to Zhuhai Da Hengqin Technology Development, more hotspots will be available in the future. Based on the big data platform of Hengqin, HengQin-Free will be further improved and provide personalized services such as tourism information, e-government affairs and mobile office for subscribers.
