Bright future of economic ties foreseen between Guangdong and South Asia

The South Asia Investment and Trade Alliance (SAITA) of Guangdong Chamber of International Commerce (GCOIC) was established in Guangzhou on March 15.Initiative launched by the CCPIT Guangdong Committee, the SAITA aims to help Guangdong companies open up South Asian markets and strengthen the economic cooperation between Guangdong and South Asia.

"The establishment of SAITA is not only a concrete act of implementing Plans of Guangdong's Participation in the ‘Belt and Road’ Construction and strengthening the strategic cooperation of production capacity with South Asia, but also a realistic demand for CCPIT Guangdong to help Guangdong enterprises cross the border as a group to develop emerging markets." stressed by Lin Tao on the opening remarks.

According to Lin, the Alliance is designed to serve every member company with the principle of mutual benefit and win-win result, where enterprises can exchange information, participate in project seminars, connect with government, and get advices and funds.

"We look forward to welcoming more investment delegations from Guangdong province and trust the South Asia Investment and Trade Alliance that has been inaugurated today will usher in a new era of greater Chinese investments into Sri Lanka."

The meeting also elected Lin Tao as the chairman of the SAITA.

In recent years, in the case of international trade depression, the trade between Guangdong province and South Asian countries has been growing rapidly. In 2015, according to customs statistics, the total trade volume of Guangdong and seven countries in South Asia (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, Maldives) reached USD 21.9587 billion, increasing more than 20%. In 2016, the number went to USD 24.9631 billion, an increase of 13.7%.

广东国际商会南亚投资贸易联盟在广州成立

     3月15日,由广东省贸促会、广东国际商会倡议发起的广东国际商会南亚投资贸易联盟在广州正式成立。省贸促会(广东国际商会)会长林涛、副会长罗丙志和印度、巴基斯坦、斯里兰卡驻广州总领事馆官员以及我省企业代表约100人参加了成立大会。会议推举广东省贸促会(广东国际商会)会长林涛为联盟主席,侯建雄、蔡海明等20位企业家为副主席,尚超、李明斌等12位企业家为成员。

    近几年来,省贸促会发挥海外联系渠道广、影响力大和企业资源多等优势,积极为广东企业“走进南亚”搭建平台,有力地推动了我省与南亚国家的经贸合作和民间交流。据统计,2014年以来在境内外已举办投资推介、国际展览、企业交流、项目对接等各类经贸活动20多场,印度总统慕克吉及印度古吉拉特邦首席部长等南亚国家部长级官员和驻华大使、驻穗总领事等30多位政要出席,参会的广东-南亚企业超过800家。通过上述活动创造了大量的投资机会,取得良好成效,一是扩大了广东省特别是广东企业、“广东制造”在南亚的影响力;二是促进了我省对南亚进出口贸易的增长,如连续14届成功举办中国商品(印度孟买)展览会,总成交额逾10亿美元;三是推动了一批广东产品南亚营销中心的建立,如中交四航院在巴基斯坦瓜达尔港建立产业园区等;四是推动了电商平台在对南亚投资贸易中的应用,企业反响热烈;五是推动了一批装备制造业落户南亚,促成了一批在南亚国家大型项目的工程承包业务等。为进一步提高我省对外开放水平和深化我省与南亚国家的经贸联系、扩大经贸往来作出了积极贡献。

    广东作为全国第一经济大省、贸易大省,将按照国家的战略部署,大力提高与包括南亚国家在内的相关国家、地区的合作水平,使广东成为连通“一带一路”的重要枢纽和中国开展国际产能合作的示范地区,并不断扩大对外贸易和相互投资,实现互利共赢。南亚国家拥有丰富的自然和人力资源,工农业发展潜力巨大,这些都为加强广东与南亚国家的产能合作和扩大投资贸易创造了良好条件、提供了广阔空间。

    2015年,省贸促会发起成立了广东国际商会非洲投资贸易联盟,联盟成立以来在促进对非投资和贸易、促进广东企业抱团出海,开拓非洲市场发挥了积极的作用,得到省委省政府的充分肯定。为了复制“广东非盟”的成功经验,此次由省贸促会牵头成立的南亚投资贸易联盟,将为我省企业打造一个到南亚共同发展的良好平台,带动更多的广东企业到南亚投资创业和开展贸易活动,为企业赴南亚投资提供全方位、立体化的服务,并通过有针对性的组织企业到南亚各国寻找商机,抱团发展,务实促进成员之间的互利合作,进一步扩大广东国际商会的影响力,推动广东与南亚各国实现更高水平的经贸交流与合作。

    近年来,在国际贸易不景气的情况下,广东省与南亚国家进出口贸易增长迅速。据海关统计,2015年,广东与南亚七国(印度、巴基斯坦、孟加拉国、斯里兰卡、尼泊尔、马尔代夫、不丹)的总贸易额达219.587亿美元,同比增长20%以上;2016年,广东与南亚七国的总贸易额达249.631亿美元,增长13.7%。若以人民币为货币单位,2016年广东省对南亚进出口贸易额为1648.3亿人民币,同比增长26%。
