The 2017 Fortune Global Forum will be held in Guangzhou on December 6-8, with the theme as “Openness & Innovation: Shaping the Global Economy”.
This was officially announced at the 2017 Fortune Global Forum Press Conference in Davos, Switzerland. The press conference was jointly held by Guangzhou municipal government and the Fortune magazine on January 18.
Communist Party Secretary of Guangzhou Ren Xuefeng, Time Inc. Chief Content Officer and Fortune Editor-in-Chief Alan Murray, and founder and managing director of the Fortune Global Forum John Needham attended the press conference. Cai Chaolin, vice mayor of Guangzhou, delivered a speech.
Ren Xuefeng met with Alan Murray and his delegation before the press conference, and mentioned that the Fortune Global Forum will provide a new platform for Guangzhou to further participate in the economic globalization process and enhance its international influence. And for global economy, contribute to creating an energetic growth pattern, win-win cooperative pattern, just and reasonable governance pattern, and balanced and universally beneficial development pattern.
“Guangzhou, China’s Southern gateway to the world, is the ideal location for the 2017 Fortune Global Forum. As a center of international trade for many centuries, Guangzhou is both a renowned symbol and a modern manifestation of China’s participation in global commerce, ”said Alan Murray.
“Guangzhou is working closely with Fortune to smoothly proceed all aspects of the preparation, which marks a good start,” said Cai Chaolin in his speech.
It is noted that Guangzhou municipal government will launch the first presentation for the 2017 Fortune Global Forum in Paris on January 20.
