The Colombia Consulate in Guangzhou held a reception to celebrate the 2018 Colombia National Day on July 20 in White Swan Hotel.
“In the context of sound bilateral relations, the exchanges and cooperation between Guangdong and Colombia have become increasingly close.” remarked Lu Feng, deputy secretary of Guangdong Government.
He added, “Guangdong will seize the historical opportunity brought by the Belt and Road Initiative and take advantages of the construction of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the Free Trade Zone to further expand cooperation with Colombia and contribute to the development of bilateral relations.”

Oscar Rueda, Colombia ambassador, has departed to GZ to join in the celebration.
He gave an insight into GZ’s future, “Today, Guangdong is the great province of China. Number one in population, per capita GDP, foreign trade, investment and tourism emissions. The construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong- Macao Greater Bay Area will generate a favorable environment for entrepreneurial innovation in this region, benefiting from natural geographical benefits and an advanced international communication network.” He also expected that Colombia and Guangdong province will have further cooperation in economy, tourism, and international friendship city, to create a win-win situation for both sides.
