Cultural Exchange Exhibition kicks off to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the China-ROK diplomatic relations

Korea-China (Guangdong) Cultural Exchange Exhibition kicked off at Guangzhou Opera House on August 24, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Korea and China.

The Exhibition comprises two parts: Photo Exhibition, which presents images of historic moments from the last 25 years of bilateral relations, and Art Exhibition, which showcases remarkable works of well-known artists representing Korea and Guangzhou. The masterpieces are from 4 Korean artists and 5 Chinese artists.

‘This exhibition demonstrates the important moments since diplomatic relations was established in 1992, which is a valued treasure for exchanges between China and ROK.’said by Ouyang Jiangxuan, Deputy Director General of Guangdong Foreign Affairs Office, ‘It's well known that China and ROK are closely linked to each other both geographically and culturally, and share profound history of exchanges. There are 8 pairs of sister cities between Guangdong and ROK, which builds up a new bridge to deepen friendship between people from two countries.’

Hwang Soontaik, Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Guangzhou indicated that since the establishment of diplomatic ties, there have been remarkable advances in relations between Korea and China in a whole range of fields, including political, economic, social and cultural spheres. The trade volume between Korea and China has grown to 240 billion dollars, a 37 fold increase in comparison with 25 years ago.

The exhibition will be held at Arte Place Gallery at Guangzhou Opera House, a landmark of Guangzhou, from 24th August to 10th September.
