On July 14th, The French Consulate in Guangzhou held an official reception in Sofitel Hotel to celebrate the 2017 French National Day. The themes of the National Day are architecture, education and sports.
“Guangdong Province has always maintained an excellent cooperative relationship with France,” said Deng Haiguang, Vice-Governor of Guangdong Province. “Festival Croisements began in May enabled Guangdong people to discover French art and culture. Besides, some of the higher education institutions in the Guangdong, such as the Sun Yat-Sun University have successively participated in cooperation projects with prestigious French higher education institutions.”
Deng also stressed that Guangdong is willing to strengthen the cooperation with France in more fields.
Bertrand Furno , Consul General of France in Guangzhou, expressed his great compliment to the cooperation between Guangdong and France in the past year. “French and South-China regional remained very dynamic cooperation. Last October, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region established sister relationship with Guangdong. What’s more, in January, Guangdong and France signed a protocol of cooperation and exchange of experience on the management of aging.”
Mr.Bertrand Furno also said that China is an important partner for French. He expected that more cooperation and exchanges in fields of architecture, education and sports.
In the reception, the delicate French food and the excellent dance performances also brought a great feast to the guests.
