Grand Theater’s debut on Foshan to make a new landmark

Last week, the opening ceremony of Foshan Grand Theatre, was held at the Square Tower of Foshan New Town Cultural Centre. Multitudinous international top performances are to be officially unveiled to bring styles of culture experiences and unprecedented visual and auditory feast to the audience on 12th Oct.

Covering an area of 23264.69 sq km, the modern-look Grand Theatre accommodates 1122 seats and a 500-square-meter little theatre with 380 seats, making it a high-level cultural complex.

After opening, minimum 80 performances, which is expected to be 120 after three years, will be stages each year, providing edification of elegant art for Fosahan citizens.

The opening season, from 12th Oct.,2018 to 30th Jan.,2019, will gives 27 performances of 13 plays, including opera, musical, drama, parent-child drama and music. The first-shown performances will be two world-class Italian original operas, Turandot and TOSCA, whose plots are familiar to people.

The editions for the opening performances are given by more than 150 actors from Genova carlo Felice opera house,the Scarlatti symphony orchestra and the Sicilian choir, on the stages decorated by stage props transported from Italy.

When it comes to the decision on two operas for opening performances, the CEO of the Grand Theatre, Li Haifu, expresses his wish for a higher starting point of the theatre. More highlights will embellish the stage, such as Malaysian modern dance--Anemophilous Flowers and Beasts,Original Broadway musical--Chicago, Norway mystery park concert, Argentine tango troupe--Tango De Pasion, drama-- Staying-up and etc.

The Grand Theatre will be the top class art performance center and the new cultural landmark for Foshan.
