Guangzhou is going all-out to lure more foreign talents as to achieve its goal of becoming a national innovation central city and an international hub city.

In June, 2016, Guangzhou started the Green Card program for talents, helping non-local talents to gain the equivalent treatment with a Guangzhou citizen. Until May 31, 2017, Guangzhou has issued 2,377 talent green cards (both Chinese & foreigners), 1,702 of which are primary cards and the rest supplementary cards.

This June, on the occasion of Green Card policy’s 1st anniversary, Guangzhou has further improved the application process for the convenience of applicants.

The improvements include increasing service window (from3 to 5), upgrading the online application system (http://www.hrssgz.gov.cn/vsgzhr/login_rclk2.aspx) and releasing a more detailed and feasible application guide, aiming to streamline application procedures.
