The former Prime Minister of France Jean-Pierre Raffarin gave his support to Chinese people fighting against the coronavirus (COVID-19). In the video, he expresses his belief that Chinese people will definitely overcome this difficulty.

Mr. Raffarin, as the Special Representative of the French Government for China, is a long-time friend of China, who has made many contributions to the friendship between the two countries. When the epidemic was first breaking out, he communicated with French government to coordinate medical support for China.

Mr. Raffarin was also the first major foreign leader to visit China during the outbreak of SARS in 2003. In 2018, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of China’s Reform and Opening-up, he took part in the shooting of the documentary "Through the Eyes of International Political Dignitaries: Recap on Guangdong's Achievements after China's Reform and Opening Up over the Past Four Decades".
