A saleswoman at a Vanguard shopping mall in Bao’an District was recently confirmed positive for novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infection.

At present, the saleswoman, surnamed Yan, is receiving treatment at Shenzhen No. 3 People’s Hospital while the mall is temporarily closed and disinfected, the Daily Sunshine reported.

Yan had gone to her hometown in Jiangxi Province on Jan. 24 for the Spring Festival holiday. She returned to Shenzhen on Feb. 8. and resumed work at the mall Feb. 10 with no signs of fever.

On Feb. 11, Yan was informed that her mother-in-law was infected with the virus.

Yan was soon confirmed infected Feb. 14. Nine persons who had close contact with Yan have been put under quarantine, according to the Municipal Health Commission.

As of Feb. 14, the nine quarantined people did not show symptoms of coronavirus.

All employees of Vanguard shopping mall retuning to Shenzhen recently have been instructed to remain quarantined for 14 days before resuming work.
