The charter flight CZ5260 from Wuhan Tianhe International Airport, carrying 313 Guangdong medics supporting Hubei, has successfully landed in Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport at 13:38, March 22nd. This is the first charter flight for Guangdong’s medical teams supporting Hubei to return home.
The flight is taking home medics of the first medical team, which set off to Hubei on the eve of Chinese New Year (January 24th), as well as the 2nd, 19th and 24th batch of medical teams to Hubei.
The cabin crew prepared sign boards that read “Welcome home, our heroes” and “Pay respect to the greatest and the dearest of you”, and a “thank-you” note in the front of each seat. The crew sent out small national-flags to medics when they were boarding to welcome them home.
Upon the arrival of the medics, ground staff of China Southern Airline, showed their warm welcome by holding blessing boards that read “Guangdong people are proud of you”, “Delicious Cantonese food is waiting for you” and so on.
To pay gratitude to the medical workers that have been sticking at their posts, China Southern Airlines offers a benefit programme for medics. They can enjoy the membership rights of gold-card members of the Pearl Club, an extra 5000 kilometers free flights, exclusive ticketing, travel discounts and many other benefits.
As of now, China Southern Airline has sent a total of 18 charter flights to Hubei, taking over 2700 medics from 7 provinces and cities home. It will continue to carry out safe flights for the returning trip of medical workers according to arrangements.
