The 130th Canton Fair hosted a promotion for Chongqing business fields on September 15th. Representatives of the China Foreign Trade Center (CFTC) and Guangdong Department of Commerce introduced the latest preparation for the Fair, and welcomed Chongqing-based exhibitors and buyers to participate in the offline Fair.
Founded in 1957, the Canton Fair is seen as an essential barometer of China's foreign trade. This year the Fair will hold both offline and online fairs after more than a year of switching to an online mode amid the COVID-19 pandemic, albeit with only one session instead of the usual three.
Ye Hua, a senior official from the Guangdong Department of Commerce, said the offline Fair welcomes all Chinese-based overseas buyers, foreign-funded companies, representatives of overseas industrial and commercial organizations and enterprises. Foreign chambers of commerce and agents of overseas buyers in China are also encouraged to participate.
Zhang Shucheng, a senior official from Chongqing Department of Commerce, said, thanks to the platform provided by the Canton Fair, a lot of Chongqing enterprises, including Loncin Motor, Zongshen Motorcycle, and Chongqing Aerospace Bashan Motorcycle, have grown up with significant influences in the international market, with over 10 billion Yuan trade volume.
According to the latest anti-pandemic measures, participants outside Guangdong province must present negative nucleic acid test reports valid within 48 hours before entering Guangdong. After entering Guangdong, they should carry out another nucleic acid test on the same day.
In addition, all participants must be fully vaccinated before participating in the offline Fair, and exhibitors will need to present a negative nucleic acid test result certificate issued within 48 hours each time they enter the exhibition hall.
