A close contact in Huizhou reported to have been to Guangzhou East Railway Station
August 13, Huizhou’s Zhongkai High-tech Industrial Development Zone reported one close contact of a confirmed case in Jingmen, Hubei Province.
On the same day, the close contact was placed under centralized medical observation. To date, the individual has received nucleic acid tests four times and the results are negative. At the same time, nucleic acid testing was carried out on key populations in related areas.

Chaozhou reported one case with weakly positive testing result for COVID-19
On August 15, Chaozhou’s Chao’an district reported one case who had initially tested weakly positive for COVID-19 on August 14. The case was transferred to a designated hospital for medical observation and epidemiological investigation.
In the early morning of August 15, the case’s retest result showed negative, which excluded the possibility of COVID-19 infection. Now, the closed management of relevant personnel and places has been lifted.

Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center released from closed management
On August 15, Panyu district reported that the mass nucleic acid test results of Xiaoguwei Island, where Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center is located, were all negative. The area was released from closed management at 20:00 on August 15.
From August 14 to 15, closed management was implemented in part of the Island for mass testing. On August 12, Tianhe district reported that a close contact of an inbound confirmed case had been to Xiaoguwei Island. A total of 16 sampling points with 210 sampling units were set up on the Island. As of 20:00 August 15, a total of 50,852 people tested negative.
A new round of mass testing carried out in Nansha Street, Guangzhou
To safeguard normalized epidemic prevention, control the situation, respond to the possible risks of imported cases and give full assistance to the supporting role of nucleic acid testing in an emergency response, Nansha Street carried out a new round of mass testing drill from 9:00 to 21:00 August 15.
