Since April 26 this year, Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department has organized a series of special campaigns to crack down on crimes. More than 650 criminal gangs were destroyed, while over 7,300 suspects have been arrested during the special campaigns.

According to Guangdong police, internet and telecommunication fraud is the major area for the special campaigns. More than 7,000 cases related to the fraud were solved. Furthermore, number of cases about the internet and telecommunications fraud dropped year-on-year significantly, as more and more people install an anti-fraud APP presented by National Anti-fraud Center onto their mobile phones.

Guangdong police has organized a series of special campaigns to crack down on crimes since April 26.

Five criminal gangs in Shenzhen, Zhanjiang, Shantou, Shantou and Jieyang were busted. Spokesperson of the Guangdong Police stated that criminal cases in the province have dropped 12.24% year-on-year.

In early 2021, Guangdong police suspected that an APP was providing illegal activities, including pornographic live streaming and online casino. After three months of investigation, during May 2021, Guangdong police launched special operation in 23 provinces and arrested 131 suspects, successfully destroying a cross-border criminal gang.

In addition, Guangdong police have dealt with 88,000 traffic violations, including drink and drunk driving. The number of road traffic accidents and deaths decreased by 29.2% and 24.9% respectively this year.

In the future, Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department will continue to carry out various campaigns to create a more peaceful and stable society for people, according to the spokesperson of the Guangdong police.
