The Dragon Boat Festival, which will fall on June 14, is approaching, while, at the same time, a tropical depression in the South China Sea has strengthened and may develop into a tropical storm. Its broad low-pressure area will bring unstable weather to Guangdong, especially coastal cities, with more thunderstorms and typhoon rains.

Friday night (June 11th), thundershowers will appear in coastal cities in Guangdong, with heavier rainfalls. During the three-day Dragon Boat Festival holiday (June 12th-14th), the province will see heavy rains and thunderstorms, especially the southern part.
Weather forecast in Guangzhou for the holiday:
June 12th (Saturday), cloudy with a chance of thunderstorms, 26-33℃
June 13th (Sunday), thunderstorms or heavy rain, 25-32℃
June 14th (Monday), moderate thunderstorms, with heavy or torrential rain in the south, 24-30℃

During the holiday, don't forget to bring your rain gear when go out and pay attention to the short bursts of heavy rainfall. These typhoon-caused storms usually last for 5 to 40 minutes.
