Guangzhou has conducted a massive nucleic acid testing for COVID-19 from May 26 to 12 pm, June 1, with 3.47 million nucleic acid test samples had been collected, according to Guangzhou Municipal Health Commission.

On May 30, the city launched the second round of nucleic acid testing covering 44 towns and streets in the districts of Yuexiu, Haizhu, Tianhe, Baiyun and Panyu. As of 12 pm, June 1, 16 positive COVID-19 samples have been found in 1.79 million samples in the second round of nucleic acid testing.

Baiyun Airport has served 5,908 passengers after new regulation

According to the latest Notice on the Management of Vehicles and Personnel Leaving Guangzhou, Baiyun International Airport has requested its departing passengers (excluding transit passengers from outside of Guangzhou) to present their green Health Code and negative result for a nucleic acid test conducted within 72 hours from 10 pm, May 31.

According to the statistics, Baiyun Airport has served 5,908 passengers in 129 flights from 10 pm, May 31 to 12 pm, June 1. And a few passengers failed to make their trips all got a free refund or change for the tickets.

Vaccine still effective when the time gap between 1st and 2nd doses are over 8 weeks

Many citizens in Guangzhou who have already got the first doze of COVID-19 vaccine, are worried about the influence due to the suspension of personal appointments for the COVID-19 vaccine. Because the suggesting time for getting the second doze of vaccine is 3 to 8 weeks after the first dose.

There is no problem to get the second dose of vaccine after over 8 weeks, and it will still produce protective antibodies, said Zhang Zhoubin, deputy director of Guangzhou Center for Disease Control and Prevention, at a press conference on June 1.
