Loaded with furniture and electronic products, a China Railway Express departed from Guangzhou on May 29th and headed to Odessa, the 4th largest city of Ukraine.
According to Guangdong GW Holding Group Co., Ltd, this is the first China Railway Express directly linking Guangzhou with Odessa. Carrying a total of 100 containers, the train is scheduled to arrive in Odessa in 20 days after an 8,408 kilometer journey, which saves nearly half of the time of traditional sea transportation and reduces logistics costs greatly for enterprises.
"I believe that this train will become a bridge between two peoples and two countries," said Dmytro Kamkov, Acting Consul General of the Ukraine in Guangzhou. It is known that China has been the largest trade partner of Ukraine since 2019. Despite the effects of COVID-19, the trade volume between China and Ukraine in 2020 still grew by 20.8% and reached 15.42 billion USD. The demand of Ukrainian companies for Chinese goods has kept increasing, and more than 25,000 containers are shipped from China to Ukraine every month.
