Over the past several days, most areas of Guangdong have experienced sunny days with high temperature of above 30℃. However, the province is forecast to see frequent thunderstorms over the next few days. The province has recently entered a season of frequent strong convective weather with heavy rainfall and thunderstorms.

From May 16th to 18th, there will be rainstorms in northern Guangdong, the Pearl River Delta region and western Guangdong with torrential downpours expected in some areas, while eastern Guangdong will meet moderate rains or heavy rains with short-term gales, strong lightning and hail in some areas.

On May 19th, there will be thundery showers or heavy rains in western Guangdong. From May 19th to 22nd, central and western Guangdong are expected to see moderate thunderstorms and heavy rains, and other areas are expected to see showers or thundershowers.

The local meteorological bureau suggests that residents should stay in sturdy houses, stay away from outdoor billboards, and avoid hiding under trees and electric poles during thunderstorms.
