When they meet in the morning, they usually greet each other with, "Have you had tea?" Drinking tea has become a habit of Guangzhou residents and a symbol of Guangzhou cuisine.

In 2019, United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) adopted a resolution to designate May 21st as the International Tea Day. As the tea day is approaching, Guangzhou hosts the tea feast to promote the history and culture of Chinese tea, as well as the health benefits of drinking all kinds of Chinese tea.
