The five-day May Day holiday is approaching and will start on May 1st this year. How do you plan to spend this vacation? Starting from now on till May 31th, Shaoguan Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports will carry out a series of cultural and tourism events with special themes, and the followings are some highlights.

● Preferential policies for tourism

A total of 12 A-level attractions are open to the public for free, and the ticket of the Danxia Mountain Scenic Area will drop to 30 RMB per person for Shaoguan locals. In addition, if you are a resident from Dongguan, you can visit 17 A-level scenic spots in Shaoguan for free.

● 54 large-scale activities about to kick off, featured by the following four events

◆  Shaoguan will launch a self-driving tour activity, and it has designed two self-driving routes along with the tea factories and other attractions in the city. This activity allows you to enjoy beautiful scenery and delicacies at the same time as you experience the tea culture of Shaoguan and its unique natural ecology.

◆  The city will hold a bike-riding activity with the total length of 200 kilometers and recruit 2,000 cycling enthusiasts to ride across Shaoguan‘s famous attractions along the way.

◆  Mountain running event will be held in Danxia Mountain, which has attracted 3,000 professional athletes and amateurs from Guangdong and other provinces to sign up for the event.

◆ The city will also organize 3,000 teachers and students from across the province to Shaoguan to research and study the history of education in the city.

● Shaoguan will also launch various cultural and tourist routes for travelers

In order to help tourists better enjoy their vacation, Shaoguan will launch 50 seasonal tourist routes, featuring five different themes, namely countryside, revolutionary history of CPC, intangible cultural heritage, research and study as well as customs and traditions of Shaoguan.
