According to the data released by the Agricultural Department of Xinjiang, the area's mechanical picking rate of cotton in 2020 reached 69.83%, of which 95% of the cotton in northern Xinjiang is picked by machines.
Every autumn of the past few years, XAG, a Guangdong-based technology company, has recruited a number of pilots to Xinjiang for flying agricultural drones to realize high-efficient cotton production.
Those agricultural drones have not only become the first choice for Xinjiang cotton farmers to spray cotton defoliants, but also have been widely used in many processes of cotton planting such as weeding, pest and chemical control.
As of mid-October 2020, XAG’s agricultural drones have helped farmers in Xinjiang to operate 216 million mu (about 14.4 hectares) of cotton.
