Do you like eating pineapple? Is pineapple your favorite fruit? Do you know the famous pineapple production base in Guangdong?

Since March 1st, the Chinese Mainland has put a temporary ban on pineapple imports from the Taiwan region because pests have been found. The decision was made given that affected pineapples would pose a serious threat to the mainland's agriculture and ecological security.

However, will that affect the mainland? The answer is no.

Have you heard the saying “the best pineapple of China is in Guangdong, and the best pineapple of Guangdong is in Xuwen”? The annual yield in Xuwen County alone will reach 700,000 tons this year.

Currently, pineapples in Xuwen are coming into the market. Special China railway high-speed trains are delivering the fresh fruit to the major consuming markets at home, such as, Beijing, Shanghai, and Lanzhou, etc.

The cultivated areas in five cities, Zhanjiang, Zhaoqing, Huizhou, Shanwei, and Jieyang, account for 95.8% of the province’s total, and the yield 97.7%.
