"Dujuan", the first typhoon of this year, has come into being in the Northwest Pacific on the afternoon of Feb 18th, with an intensity of tropical storm (level 8, 18 m/s), according to the National Meteorological Center. This year’s No. 1 typhoon has arisen much earlier than Vongfong in the last year (arose on May 12th).

At 2 pm, Feb 18th, its center was located in the Pacific Ocean about 1,460 kilometers away from southeast Manila, the Philippines. It is expected that "Dujuan" will move westward at a speed of 5-10 kilometers per hour. It will gradually approach the southeastern coast of the Philippines, and increase in intensity.

On the night Feb 20th, it will make landfall on the southeastern coast of the Philippines (strong tropical storm, level 10, 25-28m/s). Later on, it will pass through the central and southern Philippines. After that, it may move to the eastern part of the South China Sea during the day next Monday (22nd), the intensity will tend to weaken in the later period.

What impact will "Dujuan" have on Guangdong?

According to Guangdong Weather, "Dujuan" will not make land fall in Guangdong and there will be no direct influence on the province.

Guangdong will be sunny in the next three days

Light fog to be seen across most cities in the morning

Sunny and dry weather, accompanied by large temperature differences between day and night, is forecast for most parts of the province in the upcoming three days. From Friday to Sunday morning, most cities will see light fog, heavier in some cities. There will be light fog through the Qiongzhou Strait in the morning and evening.

On Feb 19th and 20th, most parts of Guangdong will be sunny, with light fog in most cities in the morning, and a heavier fog with a visibility less than 1 km in some western cities.

Lowest temperature: 6℃～10℃ in northern Guangdong, northern Zhaoqing, northern Guangzhou and northern Huizhou, 14℃～17℃ in western Guangdong and nearby cities and counties of the Pearl River Estuary, and 11℃～14℃ in the remaining cities.

On Feb 21st, cities in western Guangdong will turn from sunny to cloudy, while the rest of the cities will be mostly sunny. In the morning, most cities are expected to see light fog, and some cities in the west will see heavier fog with a visibility less than 1 km.

Lowest temperature: 9℃～12℃ in northern Guangdong, 15℃～18℃ in southern coastal cities, and 12℃～15℃ in the remaining cities.
