The documentary film "Lam's Kung Fu" tells the stories of Lam Chun-sing, a direct descendant of the Lam's family and successor of Lam's Hung Kuen kung fu in Nanhai, Foshan. Lam Sai-wing, the founder of Lam’s Hung Kuen learned his kung fu from Wong Fei-hung who was a famous Cantonese martial artist and had taught over ten thousand apprentices in his life.

Foshan is home to Bruce Lee for a part of his childhood and is famed for its martial arts. Since the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) it has been a center for martial arts training and in the late Qing Dynasty (1644-1912), and early days of the Republic of China the influence of martial arts organizations in the city began to spread internationally.

In recent years, Foshan has released a series of policies to promote the kung fu culture in the city. In 2017, Nanhai established "Kung Fu Corners" in parks, villages, shopping malls and campuses across the region, offering more venues for martial arts groups and fans to showcase their kung fu. Now there are "Kung Fu Corners" across the whole city of Foshan.
