Chinese New Year is around the corner. Due to the global pandemic, many foreign teachers and students have decided to stay in Guangzhou for the coming holiday. A series of policies have been carried out to make sure expat teachers and students can enjoy a happy holiday in Guangzhou.

In BASIS International School Guangzhou, expat teachers and students are invited to participate in Chinese New Year celebrations and experience local traditional culture. The school organized a series of activities with foreign teachers and students, such as dragon dancing, Spring Festival couplets writing, and paper-cutting for window decoration.

Conor Jones, executive head of the school, said that he has worked in many countries, and BASIS International School Guangzhou and its Chinese community impressed him very much. He highly praised policies that Guangzhou Education Bureau has implemented and think these helped him a lot.

Simbaya, an overseas student at Guangzhou Medical University, now does an internship at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University. He said that his university had offered masks and other protective equipment for all overseas students, making him comfortable.
