Guangzhou has recently issued a notice advocating how people should celebrate the Chinese New Year by remaining in place and try not to travel unless absolutely necessary. People who really need to travel should not go to overseas nor to domestic medium or high-risk areas.
The notice requires the city to carry out the celebrations of the Spring Festival strictly and simply with various prevention and control measures and with emergency responses prepared. Gathering activities in religious places should be suspended and online methods for meetings and activities are encouraged.
For important public places, the notice requires strict control of the reception scale of scenic spots. The number of tourists received by the scenic spot shall not exceed 75% of the maximum carrying capacity. The number of consumers in public places such as theaters does not exceed 75% of its seating capacity.
Rural areas, supply and marketing cooperatives and other departments should increase the supply of vegetables, fruits, seafood, tobacco, wine, and nutritional products. The whole city's vegetable markets and small supermarkets should remain open during the Spring Festival.
Citizens are required to wear masks, go through temperature measurement controls, and maintain social distance when entering public places.
