As of December 22nd, 180,000 people in Guangdong province have been inoculated against the pandemic without having any serious side-effects. The expenses are covered by the government.

Who can have the inoculation now?

People who are identified as ‘Key Groups’, such as, medical teams, cold-chain workers, and exit-entry administration staff, etc. They have higher risks to infect the coronavirus, but not all of them can be vaccinated.

Who can’t have the inoculation?

1)People under 18 or above 59 years old,

2)People who have previously suffered serious allergic reactions when receiving inoculations,

3)Pregnant women,

4)People have acute or serious chronic illness, and those at the treatment stage or with a fever,

5)People suffering from other diseases.

When will the vaccine be available to all?

It will need to wait for the vaccine going public officially or conditionally at the national level. Guangdong province will gradually get different groups of people inoculated when the vaccine production capacity is ensured.

However, authorities warn that getting the vaccine does not mean a solution to the pandemic once for all. People still need to ensure personal hygiene, keep social distances, and always wear a mask in public places.

In the forthcoming New Year and Chinese Spring Festival, it is advised to make appropriate travel arrangements and avoid going to crowded places. Above all, you should immediate stop your trip when showing typical Covid-19 symptoms, such as, cough and fever, etc.
