Nansha district of Guangzhou reported a local asymptomatic case of COVID19 on December 20th. The patient is a 31-year-old female, surnamed Wu, working at a quarantine hotel for travelers from abroad.
Wu was detected positive at a regular nucleic acid test for the hotel employees, according to the Nansha Health Commission. She took three tests before the latest one on November 28th, December 4th and 11th. All results are negative.

Nansha started an epidemiological investigation and quarantined the patient’s close contacts immediately after the report. The 131 close contacts including the hotel staff and Wu’s family members were all tested negative.
Nansha also conducted a massive testing on the residents of Dongchong, the community where the hotel is located. As of 11 a.m., December 21st, 59,243 people have been tested and all of them are negative. No community transmission has been found yet.
Nansha appeals to the residents to actively cooperate with local epidemic control staff. They also advise the public to wear masks and retain social distancing. If fever or other related symptoms occur, people should avoid taking public transportation, and seek medical help as soon as possible.
On December 20th, Guangdong reported 3 new imported cases, 7 new imported asymptomatic cases and 1 new local asymptomatic case.
