On December 18, Guangzhou held the Convention on Exchange of Overseas Talent and Guangzhou Convention of Overseas Chinese Scholars in Science and Technology. Nansha District held a special promotion meeting during this period.

This time, Nansha released recruitment information of 30 companies to overseas talents around the world, including 1,559 high-quality positions and 16 project requirements. Among them, Southern Marine Science and Engineering Guangdong Laboratory (Guangzhou), The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou), Pony.ai and DMAI as well as many other scientific research institutes, universities, and technology companies have launched recruitment requirements, covering marine science and engineering, intelligent manufacturing, artificial intelligence and other fields.

"These recruitment positions are mainly in the fields of artificial intelligence and marine science; we hope to attract more scientific and technological talents." Wang Wenjing, director of the Nansha District Science and Technology Bureau, stated. Wang also mentioned that Nansha, as the core node of the technology innovation belt in the Greater Bay Area, is building a "1+1+3+N" innovation system to attract more talents to the region for innovation and entrepreneurship.

"Nansha provides support for laboratories such as settlement fees, tax incentives and apartments." Wang Zhiwei, Deputy Director of Human Resources Department of Southern Marine Science and Engineering Guangdong Laboratory (Guangzhou) said that 47 high-level scientific research teams have been established in the laboratory since 2019. At present, they are recruiting research talents in the fields of marine geology, marine energy, marine technology and marine informatics from home and abroad.

After the promotion conference, many talents were attracted by the Nansha policy. "I feel that the development prospects of the companies in Nansha is positive and they will give us great support in settling down.” Lin Meng, who graduated from Pierre and Marie Curie University in France, said that he is paying attention to recruitment information in mechanical engineering.

It is worth mentioning that on December 14, Nansha has released a list of international talent demand for the world. Nansha selected more than 6,500 positions and also issued a "recruitment order" for global talents.
