OUTDOCS 2020 to draw outdoor sports enthusiasts in Foshan

The 2020 International Outdoor Documentary Film Festival of China (OUTDOCS) will be held at the Qiandeng Lake Park in Nanhai, Foshan between December 4th and 6th, 2020.

Through various activities such as forums, salons, sharing sessions, public screenings, workshops and training classes, the OUTDOCS 2020 will focus on the development trend of outdoor sports industry and its cooperation with film, culture and tourism in the post-pandemic period.

This year's festival has received 1,228 entries from 102 countries and regions, a record high since its establishment in 2017. Among them, 1,183 films are submitted by overseas participants, accounting for 91% of the total. The ages of film-makers range from 14 to 79 years old.

Some world-famous films have signed up for the event, including "This Mountain Life", winner of Best Film: Snow Sports of Banff Mountain Film Competition 2018, and winner of Best Visuals of the Kendal Mountain Festival 2019.

Twenty films have been nominated for the eight awards of the festival, which will be announced on the evening of December 4th at the festival's opening ceremony.

Nine films have been singled out for public screenings, and directors of these films will also join the audience to share their filming stories and experiences after the screenings.

A series of salons will take place in Foshan, with the themes of "outdoor humanity", "extreme expeditions" and "nature and environmental protection".

You will also be able to enjoy outdoor competitions of frisbee, bubble soccer and bouldering, plus on-the-spot demonstrations of parkour, skateboarding, slackline and bicycle motocross, and to attend professional training events of canoe, kayak, yoga and stamina building.
