On the morning of November 13th, a press conference was held by the Guangdong Information Office to brief the public about the province’s efforts and achievements in cracking down on gang crime.

The number of criminal cases has decreased year-on-year by 18.4% and 8.8%, the filed cases by 8.1% and 5%, the homicide cases by 81% and 9.5.%, and the eight serious and violent crimes by 20.22% and 15.2% respectively in 2018 and 2019.

By the end of October this year, 1,978 party organizations in villages and communities with high crime rates have been inspected, among which 332 were involved with illegal business and criminal cases have been put into good order. 739 cadres were prosecuted for breaking the law with 99.2% of them having already been replaced. As a result, the party authority at the community level has been further consolidated.
