Wen Guohui, Mayor of Guangzhou, signed a cooperative agreement with Thomas Nitzsche, Mayor of Jena, to establish a friendly relationship between the two cities at an online meeting on October 12th.

Wen Guohui said Jena is famous for its precision industry and it’s leading in precision optical instruments and optical glass manufacturing. “People in the two cities have supported each other during the Covid-19 pandemic. We hope we will further our cooperation in economy & trade, precision manufacturing, urban governance and virus containment.”

Thomas Nitzsche thanked Guangzhou for its medical supplies to Jena at the height of the pandemic. He said Guangzhou has achieved great progress in economic recovery and he hopes the two cities could better communicate and foster exchanges in the fields of economy, sports and cultural industry.
