Built and opened in 1937, Aiqun Hotel or Oi Kwan Hotel was the first steel framed high-rise building in Guangzhou, combining the artistic characteristics of Lingnan architecture and a western skyscraper.
Located at No.113 West Yanjiang Road and near the Pearl River, this hotel boasts spectacular views and a revolving restaurant on the 17th floor.
It was among the first China Time-honored Brands and was designated as a major historical and cultural site protected by the city in 1993. Now it houses a small museum and a residence, a high-quality residential solution for entrepreneurs, business travelers and families.
“The museum is quite nice because I can witness the heritage of Guangzhou. It's very amazing to know that this hotel was built in 1937 and up to now, the hotel is still functioning and operating well,” Wibowo from Indonesia said, after a tour to the hotel.
