The Greater Bay Area China-French Innovation and Technology Forum was held at the China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City (CSGKC) on September 23rd.

The forum provided tech companies with a platform to connect with investors, lawyers and consultants so that they could improve their knowledge about the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and seizes opportunities.

50 representatives from Chinese and French companies as well as investment institutions attended the off-line forum while an audience of more than 200 participated in the discussion online. According to the organizer, a number of companies have reached initial intent of cooperation at the forum.

Pascal Millard, Economic Consul of the Consulate General of France in Guangzhou, said the Covid-19 pandemic brought enterprises both challenges and opportunities. “Guangdong-Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area is one of the most economically active areas in the world. It’s the ideal destination for entrepreneurs who are looking for new opportunities. I hope more French companies could contribute to the technological innovation ecosystem of the Greater Bay Area.”

Li Yituo, Director of Investment Promotion Bureau of CSGKC Development and Construction Office, introduce the strengths and opportunities of CSGKC as an important project for technological innovation in the Greater Bay Area development plan. He also outlined major advantageous policies provided by the Huangpu District where the project located in.

The forum also included two panel discussion sessions respectively with the theme of “Development opportunities and trends of science a technology innovation ecology in the Greater Bay Area” and “How can French technological innovation enterprises seize the development opportunity of the Greater Bay Area to win together in the future.”

Professionals from consultancies, investment firms, law firms and French tech companies which are either based in the Greater Bay Area or have close business ties with business partners here participated in the panel discussion and shed insight into the topics.

As an international platform for technological innovation, CSGKC held a series of event to boost cooperation with French counterparts in 2019 and set up the French Business Service Center which has been offering strategy, resource, legal and talent support.

The roadshow was jointly organized by China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City (CSGKC), La French Tech, CCI FRANCE CHINE and China-Singapore Smart Park.
