<P>Guangzhou will hold the China International Pet Fair (CPF) and the International Small Animal Medical Devices and Supplies Fair at Pazhou International Sourcing Center from September 18th to 20th.<

1. China International Pet Fair

Guangzhou will hold the China International Pet Fair (CPF) and the International Small Animal Medical Devices and Supplies Fair at Pazhou International Sourcing Center from September 18th to 20th.

In addition to different kinds of lovely cats and dogs, the fair will display over 2,500 pet supply brands and sell pet foods, snacks, houses, toys, clothes, medicines, and other supplies. It will also hold some interesting pet activities, such as the National Dog Games, the International Famous Cat Competition, dog training shows, noncommercial pet adoption, pet photography, and pet baking, or how to create some dream meals for your furry friends.

Venue: Guangzhou Pazhou International Sourcing Center

2. Art Exhibition of Guangdong Woodcarving

The Art Museum of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts and the Guangdong Folk Crafts Museum will exhibit 78 pieces of Cantonese woodcarvings on the first floor of the Canton Tower. These woodcarvings are made from the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China (1840-1919), revealing the ritual and music of that age.

The most impressive exhibit is a 111-year-old golden lacquered wood building, which is 570cm in length and 470cm in height. It is used to welcome a God—Hongsheng King—in Guangzhou's Panyu district during the Qing Dynasty.

3. Blooming flowers in the South China Botanical Garden

The South China Botanical Garden in Guangzhou has released its flower newsletter for September to show all kinds of flowers blooming in the Garden. The king lotus in the pond of the Woody Flower Area and the Mucuna lamellata Wilmot-Dear in the greenhouse of exotic plants have both entered their blooming period.

The Garden is holding a special exhibition of anti-epidemic plants. The exhibition will last until the end of this month.

4. Shimen Straw Culture Festival

The fifth Shimen Straw Culture Festival is held in Guangzhou's Shimen National Forest Park's Tianchi Huahai (天池花海) scenic spot. With the theme of "Intangible Cultural Heritage", this year's festival displayed 32 groups of colorful scarecrows. Various characters from traditional Chinese myths and legends are woven with straw and are displayed at the foot of Shimen hills.
