As of 24:00, June 23rd, Guangdong reported no new confirmed COVID-19 cases and asymptomatic patients. The province has no new confirmed cases from other provinces for 66 days in a row and no locally transmitted cases for 56 days in a row. 6 cases now remain in the hospital.

As the Dragon Boat Festival is approaching, Huang Fei, Deputy Director of the Health Commission of Guangdong Province announced the dragon boat race plan for this year during the meeting.

Guangdong will not hold any dragon boat races at provincial, municipal or county (district) levels. However, administrative departments of town (street) and village (community) are allowed to organize races with the approval of their upper level departments.

The scale of dragon boat races will be restricted to no more than 1000 participants (including athletes, coaches, judges and staff). Large-scale gatherings (dinner and lunch) are also forbidden.

Additionally, the commission stressed management on audiences for virus prevention.
