As of 12am, May 19th, Guangdong had reported neither new confirmed cases nor new asymptomatic cases. The province has reported zero domestic confirmed cases for 20 consecutive days, and zero asymptomatic cases over the past 14 days.
As of 12am May 19th, Guangdong had reported 1,590 confirmed COVID-19 cases in total, among which 3 cases remain in hospital. The recovery rate for COVID-19 cases across the province has hit 99.31%.

"By the end of May, each county will have equipped at least one county-level medical institution that is able to independently conduct nucleic acid testing," according to Zhou Zixiao, Deputy Director-General of the Health Commission of Guangdong Province.
As of May 19th, Guangdong had set up 394 testing service points at medical institutions and city squares across the province. Groups or individuals need to make an appointment in advance and bring ID before they can be tested.

"Starting from June 2nd, students of kindergartens and special education schools whose conduct passes on-site inspection, will return in waves in accordance with relevant national and provincial regulations." Wang Chuang, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Education of Guangdong Province said at the conference.
The specific dates for kindergartens and special education schools will be determined on a case by case basis by local authorities. Parents can themselves determine whether or not they wish to send children back to kindergartens this semester.
Moreover, after June 2nd, off-campus training institutions will be allowed to provide offline training services after inspection by and approval of the local authorities.
