On the premise that they fully implement prevention and control measures, Guangdong will allow shopping malls, supermarkets, hotels, and restaurants to fully reopen. Necessary meetings and exhibitions will also restart, according to an announcement released by Guangdong's COVID-19 prevention and control authority on May 13th.
The announcement requires medical institutions to fully resume normal services. The system of appointment making and visiting in different waves will be extended.
Guangdong will expand COVID-19 testing on these groups:
-Patients in fever clinics
-Newly admitted inpatients and their attendants
-Staff in medical institutions
-Staff in charge of port quarantine and frontier inspection
-Staff in nursing homes, welfare homes, prisons, maternal and child service agencies
Joint prevention and control mechanisms for public health emergency will be continuously conducted in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.
Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao will strengthen cooperation in the fields of information exchange, patient treatment, protective materials supplies and health management of key groups.
Moreover, the announcement requires Guangdong to coordinate control measures on Hong Kong and Macao inbound personnel, and ensuring the normal supply of essential goods to Hong Kong and Macao.
