Zhou Zixiao, Deputy Director-General of the Health Commission of Guangdong Province, reminded the public to pay attention to self-protection measures during travel at the 58th press conference on Guangdong's fight against COVID-19 held in Guangzhou today (April 28th).

Guangdong authorities have recently issued guidelines on epidemic prevention and control during May Day holiday. According to the guidelines, during May Day, visiting scenic areas and cultural attractions need reservations in advance, with indoor venues still Closed. Tourists are suggested to make a careful travel plan before setting out to avoid disappointment.

The guidelines remind tourists to maintain the usual self-protection measures including wearing masks while in public and washing hands frequently, as well as keeping their distance from others while taking transportation, visiting parks and having meals.

The use of serving chopsticks and spoons during meals is also recommended, rather than personal cutlery alone.

Tourists are also asked to pay close attention to the risk level information released by local authorities and the latest epidemic prevention and control measures at their destination, and to prepare in advance information regarding ticket reservations (Real name ID is a minimum requirement).
