Guangdong reported 17 new imported cases, 12 measures to promote cultural, tourism and sports industries

According to the Health Commission of Guangdong Province, from 00:00 March 19th to 12:00 March 20th, Guangdong confirmed 17 new imported cases, 7 in Guangzhou, 6 in Shenzhen, 2 in Foshan, 1 in Zhuhai, and 1 in Jieyang.

17 new imported cases in Guangdong

As of 12:00 March 20th, the province had reported 45 imported cases in total.

According to the press conference, Guangdong has introduced 12 measures to promote cultural, tourism and sports industries. These measures focus on supporting the accommodation sector, travel agencies, scenic spots, resorts, cultural and entertainment venues affected by the epidemic. Loan discounts and rent reduction are in place to help companies survive the epidemic.

The province will help cultural and tourism companies get back to work. As of now, many scenic spots have already reopened, including major attractions like the Canton Tower and Guangdong Museum .

Meanwhile, Guangdong will advance entrance ticket reductions at state-owned scenic spots, and encourage non-state-owned scenic spots to cut ticket fees. Themed shopping activities are also in the plan.

Public stadiums will also begin to reopen, and sports events will gradually resume.
