Guangzhou, Shaoguan and Qingyuan museums open, audience flow limited

Guangzhou Museum reopens Zhenhai Tower exhibition area and its square from today (March 15th), opening times are from 09:00 to 17:00, and it will be closed on Mondays, according to its official Wechat account. The museum will welcome no more than 40 visitors every hour, and the total number of visitors per day is to be limited to 300.

Wearing masks is a must during the whole visit, and it’s also recommended that tourists should keep a distance of no less than 1.5 meters from others. Those with temperature above 37.3 ℃ or without masks will not be permitted entry to the museum.

Guangzhou Museum provides a real-name online booking ticket service on Wechat official account ‘gzbwgzhgb’(广州博物馆智慧广博), and is now accepting individual bookings but group visits are still suspended. Visitors need to fill in their real name, contact information, and identity card number. Each ID card can make only one booking per day.

After successful reservation, visitors must show their ‘Suikang code’ (穗康码) before buying tickets. If the code is valid and the individual is listed as showing no symptoms, visitor can buy the ticket with reservation code and ID card. Currently, only e-payment is accepted.

Shaoguan Museum and Shaoyang House reopened on March 13th, admitting 20 people per hour, with a visit time not exceeding 60 minutes per person per time. Under present circumstances, visitors can call 0751-8172239 to make a reservation before visiting.

Qingyuan museum will reopen its second and third floor on March 17th. To reduce the amount of crowding, the museum will limit visitors to 30 people at any given time.

Guangzhou library opens today, receiving 3,000 people each day (1500 for each half-day), while the number of readers in the library will be controlled within 500. The number will be adjusted dynamically according to the situation of epidemic control. Readers need to make an appointment through the system on its WeChat official account ‘gzlibrary’ one day in advance.

Opening Hours: 9:00-16:00 (closed on Wednsdays, except March 18th)

Foshan Library and Qingyuan library will reopen on March 17th to provide readers with Lend & Return services.

Reservation can be made through the WeChat official account of Foshan library.

Qingyuan library

Opening Hours: 8:30-12:00 &14:30-17:30, from Tuesday to Thursday & weekends; 14:30-17:30 on Friday.

Art galleries extend exhibitions

Guangzhou’s Kui Yuan Gallery opened again on March 14th. Its first floor is open from 11:00 to 18:00 every day. Ceramic art exhibition -The Echo of Clay-will continue to be exhibited.

Meanwhile, Kui Yuan will also prepare an exhibition of Zhang Zhaoying’s paintings and installations. Visitors are required to wear masks, undergo temperature checks and follow the guidance of on-site staff.

Shenzhen-based Zhi Art Gallery introduced a reservation system on March 3rd. In order to meet the needs of the people who haven't been able to visit the exhibition during the epidemic, it decided to extend the ongoing ‘The Beauty of Great & Exquisite - Chen Xiangbo Solo Art Exhibition’ to April 2nd.
